Never let another man take something from you with impunity... once again, it's called taking massive fucking action to get "revenge," it's masculine and primal AF. Despite conventional thinking, masculine emotions like rage, revenge, and ruthlessness have great utility, when used in proper context and fair balance.
For instance, if you let a friend steal twenty dollars from you, a small betrayal, you may as well let him off the hook to not have your back when shit gets real and it's time to fight. While you're at it, you may as well give him your dinner, your girl and your dignity. Without a show of force, confrontation, and consequence, he will bleed you where you stand, he will show and tell everyone else that they can do the same. Revenge doesn’t have to destroy someone else just because you can (trust me, I would know), nor should it. A true man of value always maintains leverage (not for the purpose of revenge, but because he is worth something to the tribe, team, group or gang… he is of value). A public and immediate blow back signals “I am not be fucked with,” it will be met with force, savvy, consequence, and if you're lucky, an undertone of Mr. Miyagi-like mercy. "Loyalty above all" fucking means something, without it, you throw yourself in the wild, alone and let the wolves eat your alive.
